The laboratory supports a large number of networks such as Laboratoire International Associé Engineering Lyon-Tohoku ELyT , le Centre lyonnais de microscopie FED 4092 Clym and METSA, the national microscopy network. It is a plenary member of the Fédération de l'ingénierie lyonnaise (Lyon engineering federation) (Collegium) and l'Institut Carnot I@L, an associate member of l'Institut de Chimie de Lyon (chemical institute of Lyon) and is present in the Axelera, Plastipolis, Viameca and Techtera competitiveness clusters. It is also a driving force behind the GIS ‘Architectured Multimaterials’ linking Grenoble INP and l'INSA Lyon. It was also implicated in the IVTV and Phare outstanding equipment programme and the iMUST centre of excellence laboratory. We are coordinating a European project on bioceramics and are currently taking part in four other projects in Europe (ITN Biobone, ERC FreeCo, COST NewGen, FP7 Cobra). We are taking part in or have taken part in 21 National Research Agency projects. In addition, we also participate in national research association activity including SYDEROSI, MIC and 3MF, Nano, Glass etc.
We are also involved in leading research for national and international learned societies. On a national level we work with the Conseil d’Administration de la Société Française de Métallurgie et de Matériaux – SF2M (French Materials Science Board) -, Groupe Français de la Céramique GFC (French Ceramics Group), CEFRACOR, l’AMAC, MECAMAT) and their themed commissions. On an international level, we work with ECERS (European Ceramic Society) etc. and we organise the international congresses.
