Jonathan Amodeo has been recruited by the CNRS as junior researcher in 2015 and works in the METAL group of the MATEIS laboratory. His research activities focus on analysing the mechanical properties of crystalline materials using multi-scale modeling. Jonathan Amodeo's main topics are nanomechanics, dislocations and multi-scale plasticity modeling. He uses several techniques as molecular dynamics, dislocation dynamics and crystal plasticity. Jonathan Amodeo received the Dalla Torre price from the French Materials and Metallury Society (SF2M) in 2012 for the best french PhD thesis in modeling materials. He is reviewer for several international peer-reviewed journals as Acta Materialia, Scripta Materialia, Applied Physics Letters, Computational Materials Science, etc. and is currently a member of the 2016 US National Committee on Theoretical and Applied Mechanics (USNCTAM). At MATEIS, Jonathan Amodeo is a member of the computer maintenance team and is in charge of the MATEIS METAL webpage. He has been recently granted by MATEIS ("MATEIS junior reseacher grant") for his project on modeling surface defects and nanoparticle mechanics.
