Biological Interactions and Biomaterials
General presentation of the group
The Biological Interactions and Biomaterials group started in january 2011, after the laboratories RTI2B (Tissular Regenaration, Biological Interactions and Biomaterials, associated to Lyon 1 University) and MATEIS joined together.
This is a truly multi-disciplinar group, in which both academic and hospitalo-academic researchers work together. I2B’s action thus extends from very basic research (on new materials) to the patient’s bedside.
In line with this objective, I2B’s research is organised following two principles:
- Develop and validate new biomaterials
- Carefully study interactions between leaving cells, tissues or microorganisms with materials or particles.
