MATEIS comprises six research groups studying the physical, chemical and mechanical properties of four classes of material with existing structures. These are metals, ceramics, polymers and composites:

         -        The METAL  group – METals and ALloys

         -        The PVMH  group – Polymers, Glass and Heterogeneous Materials

         -        The CERA  group – CERAmic and Composite materials

         -        The SNMS  group – Structures, Nano- et Micro- Structures

         -        The I2B  group –  Biological interactions and Biomaterials

         -        The CorrIS  group – Corrosion and Surface Engineering
